This site is built to be usable by everyone.

That includes people using a screen reader, navigating by keyboard, working at high zoom, or relying on captions. If any part of it gets in your way, tell me and I will fix it.

The standard

This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and follows WCAG 2.2 Level AA where it applies. That is the standard U.S. courts and the Department of Justice generally point to.

What that means here

• Every page works from the keyboard alone, in a sensible order, with a visible focus ring on whatever you are on.
• Text and background colors meet the 4.5:1 contrast minimum — including the text set over photographs, which is measured against the actual image rather than assumed.
• Every image has a text alternative, and images that are purely decorative are marked so a screen reader skips them.
• Headings run in order, so a screen reader can navigate the page by structure.
• The contact form has real labels tied to each field, not just placeholder text.
• Motion is switched off automatically if your device asks for reduced motion.
• Text reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels wide, and at 200% zoom.
• There is a “skip to content” link before the menu.

Where it falls short

Being straight about the gaps is more useful than claiming there are none.

• The contact form is handled by Formspree, a third-party service. Its error messages are outside my control, though the form itself is built to standard.
• Fonts load from Google Fonts. If that service is slow, text briefly renders in a fallback typeface.
• There is no video on the site yet. When there is, it will ship with captions and a transcript.

If you would rather have the information a different way — over the phone, or in a document — just ask. That is not a workaround, it is a normal way to do business.
